Paint correction on Audi R8 — Xentra Auto

Paint Correction Service

Swirls, scratches, water spots, oxidation — removed by machine polish. Mirror finish restored.

★★★★★ 4.9 · 500+ Cars Corrected · IDA Certified · Mobile · 7 Days

Paint correction is precision machine polishing — not a one-pass buff. We measure paint depth per panel, dial in the right pad-and-compound combo for your paint system, then cut, polish, and refine until defects are gone. Zero holograms. No filler. The result is paint that looks like it just came off the production line.

What's included

Disciplined, measured, panel-by-panel work. The numbers matter — paint depth is finite.

Who this service is for

Three types of clients see the biggest difference from a correction.

😩

Daily drivers with car-wash damage

Years of brush washes and dirty mitts have hazed your clear coat. One correction reverses all of it.

🆕

New-car owners (dealer swirls)

Yes — your "new" car already has swirl marks. Dealership prep washes are brutal. Correct it before the first ceramic coat.

🚗

Used-car buyers

Just bought a used vehicle? Correction brings paint back to as-new condition and gives you a clean canvas for protection.

Why choose Xentra Auto for paint correction

Correction is high-skill work. One wrong pass thins clear coat for life. Here's how we don't do that.

📐

We measure every panel

IR paint-depth gauge before, between, and after every stage. We know exactly how much clear we removed and what's left.

🎯

Paint-system specific

Soft Tesla single-stage gets different compounds than hard German clear coat. We test-spot before committing.

🚐

Mobile with LED inspection

We bring the SCANGRIP and Sun-Gun inspection lights to your garage. You see every defect before, during, and after.

Single vs multi-stage vs 3-stage

Pick the correction level that matches your paint condition. Not every car needs the heaviest cut.

Paint correction FAQ

Single-stage enhancement runs 4–6 hours. Two-stage correction takes 8–12 hours. Multi-stage and wet-sand jobs run 1.5–2 full days. Time scales with how much defect work we have to do — we measure paint depth before we cut and pace the job to safe removal limits.
Anything inside the clear coat — swirl marks, light scratches you can't feel with a fingernail, water spots, oxidation — yes. Deep scratches that have cut into the base coat or primer need touch-up paint or panel respray. We tell you up-front which category each defect falls into.
Single-stage uses one combined compound-polish step — fast, good for light defects. Multi-stage uses a heavier cutting compound first, then finer polishes to refine the finish. Multi-stage removes 90%+ of defects vs single-stage's 60–70%. 3-stage adds wet sanding for severe oxidation or restoration jobs.
Strongly recommended. Without a coating or sealant, your freshly-corrected paint starts re-marring on the first improper wash. Ceramic coating locks in the correction for 1–10 years depending on tier. Most clients bundle both — correction first, coating second, same appointment.
The correction itself is permanent — the defects are physically removed. How long the finish stays flawless depends on what you do next. Unprotected corrected paint marks again within months. Sealed paint lasts 6–12 months. Ceramic-coated paint stays mark-free for years with proper washing.
Yes — older paint is often the best candidate. We measure remaining clear coat thickness with an IR gauge before we cut. If you have 80+ microns of clear (most original-paint cars do, even 15+ years old), there's room for several stages of correction without going through to base coat.
A swirl mark is a circular micro-scratch in the clear coat caused by improper washing — automatic brush washes, dirty wash mitts, or wiping with cheap microfiber. Under direct light or LED inspection, swirls show as a hazy spider-web pattern. They look worse on dark paint because they catch more light.
Not when done correctly. We measure paint depth before and between every stage. Industry-safe removal is around 1–2 microns per correction; factory clear is typically 60–120 microns. Done right, you can correct a car 4–6 times in its lifetime without thinning the clear past safe limits.
For a ceramic-coated, properly-washed car: once every 4–6 years to refresh. For an unprotected daily driver: every 1–2 years. For show cars and exotics: as often as the owner wants before each major event.
Scratches that haven't broken through clear coat (you can't feel a sharp edge with a fingernail), yes — those polish out. Scratches into base coat need touch-up paint. Scratches into primer need a respray. We assess on-site and tell you exactly what's polishable vs what needs paintwork. See our scratch removal service for spot repair.
